Celestial Maiden

I did this obviously two and a half years ago and I'm still amazed at the result. This is from "Ceres:Celestial Legend". To finish this, it took me three days maybe more since I can't remember exactly. Sure wasn't done in one day. I love the robes that the Maiden is wearing and my favorite part of this whole picture is her holding the little boy.

History Lesson:
There is a legend from ancient Japan that Tennyo (or Celestial Maidens) came down to Earth from the heavens to bathe in the healthy rivers. During their bathing, a fisherman saw them and discovered their robes hanging on a tree branch. Being the greedy human that he was, he stole one of the robes and when the angels saw him, they flew back into heaven. Except one. The angel, whose robes he had stolen from her, couldn't go back to heaven without them. She begged him to return them, but he wouldn't allow it. So the angel accepted her fate and became his wife.

Over time, she bore him his children. No matter how much she hated him, she loved the children she gave birth to. The children would sing songs of angels and the celestial robes. And through that, she was able to find her robes he had hidden and she returned to heaven. Leaving her beloved children behind.
